Quetta:Balochistan Chief Minister Sardar Sarfaraz Bugti condemned the recent killings of laborers in the province, questioning how such acts can contribute to the freedom of Balochistan. Speaking at a press conference alongside Hadila Baloch, a girl who renounced her suicide bombing intentions, he highlighted the dangers of propaganda that entices Baloch youth into terrorism.
Bugti stated, “Killing innocent workers is not a part of any freedom struggle. Bloodshed will not lead to the liberation of Balochistan.” He emphasized that countless children like Hadila are trapped in terrorist camps, and it is crucial to recognize how terrorists deceive individuals into carrying out suicide attacks.
He praised Hadila’s father for successfully bringing her back home after receiving a threatening message regarding her fate. The Chief Minister urged all parents to maintain communication with their children and contact government representatives if they suspect their children are being influenced by extremist groups.
Bugti asserted that the government is focused on education, offering scholarships to Baloch students rather than promoting violence. “We are investing in the education of our youth; the state is acting as a nurturing mother,” he remarked.
He expressed concern over the targeting of soft targets like laborers in Panjgur and reiterated that military operations are not a solution for the province. “The terrorists are playing with innocent lives for their own gain,” he added, denouncing the ongoing violence and calling for unity in resisting such threats.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that Baloch youth are not used against the state, emphasizing that violence is not a means to serve the interests of Balochistan.
