Balochistan Can Become a Key Economic Hub: CM Sardar Sarfaraz Baloch at the World Economic Forum

Davos:Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, highlighted the immense potential of the province during his speech at the World Economic Forum. He stated that Balochistan is Pakistan’s largest province, covering 44% of the country’s total area, and offers significant opportunities for global investment. He emphasized that Balochistan could become an ideal economic center for the international community, opening new doors for growth for both Pakistan and the world.
The Chief Minister focused on the strategic importance of the Gwadar Port, which he described as the cornerstone of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He revealed that efforts are underway to develop the Gwadar Free Zone into a special economic zone, making it more attractive for investors.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti also drew attention to the vast mineral resources of Reko Diq, calling them a major opportunity for global investors. Additionally, he pointed out that Balochistan’s agriculture and fisheries sectors also offer attractive investment prospects.
He further stated that his government is prioritizing the improvement of education, healthcare, and employment opportunities in the province. By involving local communities in development projects, Balochistan’s people are being directly benefitted from the region’s economic growth.
The Chief Minister concluded his address by inviting global investors to take advantage of Balochistan’s natural resources and its unparalleled economic significance, asserting that investment in the province would not only benefit Balochistan but also contribute to the broader development of Pakistan and the international community.
