Balochistan Bar Council Condemns Use of Force by Police in Saryab, Demands Immediate Release of Political Activists

The Balochistan Bar Council, in a statement, strongly condemned the police’s use of force during a peaceful sit-in protest in Saryab, especially after the recent fatalities caused by firing and violence. The statement criticized the provincial government for its failure to protect the lives and property of the people and condemned the arrests of Dr. Marang Baloch and several women.
The council emphasized that the provincial government has proven to be completely ineffective in safeguarding public rights, and that unconstitutional arrests and excessive use of force will only worsen the situation in Balochistan. The statement also highlighted the ongoing corruption and mismanagement under the current administration, which has led to the deterioration of conditions in the region.
It was further stressed that peaceful protests and rallies are a fundamental right of every citizen in a democratic country like Pakistan. The Bar Council expressed its outrage over the use of force against innocent citizens during the peaceful protest in Saryab and the tragic loss of life.
The Balochistan Bar Council called on the authorities to find an immediate and effective peaceful solution to the deteriorating situation in Balochistan and demanded the release of Dr. Marang Baloch, the arrested women, children, and students without delay.
