Balochistan Assembly Discusses Gwadar Situation Amidst Protests
Quetta:Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, addressed the Balochistan Assembly regarding the ongoing unrest in Gwadar, emphasizing the government’s stance on dialogue and condemning violence against protesters. Bugti reiterated the government’s willingness to engage in negotiations, asserting that no one should be allowed to resort to killings and vandalism. He highlighted the injuries sustained by 16 youths during clashes, with one losing an eye. Bugti expressed a commitment to bridging the gap between state and public, refusing to permit any unlawful actions. Addressing historical context, he referenced agreements allowing states in India and Pakistan to choose their affiliations post-partition. Bugti affirmed solidarity with the Baloch Unity Committee and questioned the rationale behind violent actions against peaceful demonstrators.
