Quetta:Bakhtawar Baloch, sister of Dr. Abdul Hadi Baloch, who disappeared under mysterious circumstances on June 1, 2024, allegedly at the hands of state security forces, expressed deep concerns over his disappearance in a statement issued by Quetta’s “Qudrat” newspaper. Despite 44 days passing since his abduction, there has been no information about his whereabouts or his condition, nor has any formal charge been brought against him.
Bakhtawar Baloch stated, “We have no idea where he is, what his condition is, and what crime he is accused of, if any. If there are allegations against him, he should be presented in court. My brother is a government employee and was forcibly disappeared from the District Hospital Awaran where he worked as an OT Assistant. He remains missing to this day.”
She emphasized, “Our demand is simple: if my brother has committed any crime, he should be brought before the court, and if he is innocent, he should be immediately recovered.”
The case of Dr. Abdul Hadi Baloch adds to the ongoing concerns regarding enforced disappearances in Balochistan, where activists and individuals often vanish without trace, raising serious human rights issues and demands for accountability from authorities.
