Baloch Unity Committee Spokesperson Issues Policy Statement

Gwadar:The Baloch Raaji March (Baloch National Assembly) continues as a sit-in protest in Peddar Zir Gwadar. Initially scheduled as a single-day gathering on July 28, due to state coercion, it has been extended indefinitely. Despite the curfew in Gwadar for the past 48 hours, thousands of people are present at the Baloch Raaji March, while many have been halted at Toll Checkposts, where they sit in protest. The state has imposed a complete lockdown across Balochistan, including Gwadar, over the last 48 hours. Blind firing, violence, and arrests have transformed Balochistan into a war-torn region. Despite the imposition, thousands of people, through their presence in the Baloch Raaji March, have demonstrated their defiance against state coercion, proving that the people hold the ultimate power and strength, which no force in the world can challenge. Today, the Baloch people have made history, and its effects will reverberate through our society for years to come. We send a message to oppressed people worldwide through the Baloch Raaji March, where thousands gather in protest in Gwadar.

There is concern that during the night, there may again be blind firing and violence against participants in the Baloch Raaji March. At present, there are two demands for the Baloch Raaji March: Firstly, despite forcefully halting our convoys, all routes should be opened for our convoys to reach Gwadar. Secondly, all those arrested should be released within 48 hours; otherwise, this sit-in protest will continue indefinitely, and we are ready to negotiate with the state at Peddar Zir Gwadar. If the state continues to use force instead of acting with reason and prudence, then conditions across Balochistan, including Gwadar, will completely slip out of the state’s control. The Baloch people remain peaceful, and we urge everyone to maintain peace and await the central call of the Baloch Unity Committee. The central office of the Baloch Unity Committee in Gwadar will soon announce its future course of action.
