Baloch Unity Committee Spokesperson Condemns Violence in Gwadar
Quetta:A spokesperson for the Baloch Unity Committee has stated that Gwadar is currently under severe state oppression. This morning, security forces launched a brutal attack on a peaceful sit-in of the Baloch Raji Mochi in Gwadar, surrounding the protest site and indiscriminately firing, resulting in multiple injuries, including women and children. The wounded protesters are currently besieged by forces, denied access to hospitals and ambulance services, raising concerns of potential fatalities due to lack of urgent medical attention.
The spokesperson further expressed alarm over reports of enforced disappearances of scores of individuals from protest sites and Gwadar city, accompanied by widespread raids, house searches, and destruction. The Baloch Unity Committee appeals to all oppressed ethnic communities, including the Baloch people, to immediately mobilize against the severe oppression in Gwadar. They call for complete shutdowns across Balochistan, urging sit-ins and calling for a wheel-jam strike and shutter-down protest throughout the province in solidarity against the worst forms of coercion in Gwadar.
