Quetta:In a recent statement, Maah Rung Baloch, Chief Organizer of the Baloch Unity Committee, announced ongoing negotiations with government officials and authorities regarding the recovery of missing activist Zahid Baloch. The negotiations reportedly included discussions on the enforced disappearance of Zahid Baloch, documented by the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH).
Following protests held on July 11th, where several demonstrators were detained, 15 out of the 21 individuals held in police custody have been released. The remaining 6 detainees are scheduled for court hearings on Monday, after which they are expected to be released. Additionally, it was declared that all cases against peaceful protesters from July 11th would be withdrawn.
To ensure the recovery of Zahid Baloch, a committee comprising his relatives and supporters will be formed. This committee aims to exert pressure for Zahid Baloch’s recovery within 15 days. If unsuccessful, his supporters have vowed to resume their protests.
Zahid Baloch’s disappearance has sparked widespread concern and condemnation, with human rights organizations and activists demanding swift action and accountability from the authorities.
