Gwadar:The Baloch Solidarity Committee has issued a statement accusing the state of deceitfully managing negotiations while using force against peaceful protesters. Dr. Mah Rang Baloch, the central organizer of the committee, claimed that the state has been misleading the media and the public by shutting down networks and internet access, and using armed force against participants.
Dr. Baloch criticized the state for its heavy-handed tactics in response to the planned peaceful protest, known as Baloch Rajgi Machi, aimed at addressing issues of Baloch genocide and human rights violations. Despite assurances to the Deputy Commissioner of Gwadar that the event would be peaceful, the state has responded with violence and intimidation. Dr. Baloch emphasized that the committee had clearly communicated its intentions to hold a peaceful gathering and was prepared to take responsibility for any damage.
The statement highlighted that the protests, initially meant to be a one-day peaceful national assembly, have escalated into ongoing demonstrations due to the state’s oppressive measures. The committee has now transitioned their protest into a sit-in with two main demands: the immediate release of all detained participants and the removal of roadblocks throughout Balochistan.
Dr. Baloch expressed frustration over the state’s refusal to address these demands and accused the government of perpetuating a charade of negotiations while simultaneously using force against protesters. She called on the state to cease its violent actions and engage in genuine dialogue, stressing that peaceful resistance will continue despite the government’s attempts to suppress it.
