Baloch Doctors Forum Condemns State Repression and Demands Release of Dr. Mehrang Baloch

Quetta:The spokesperson for the Baloch Doctors Forum issued a statement condemning the excessive state repression against educated, conscious, and vocal Baloch professionals advocating for public rights. The spokesperson called the arrest of Dr. Mehrang Baloch the worst form of state oppression, which is unacceptable in any form. The statement also highlighted that before Dr. Mehrang’s arrest, Dr. Elias Baloch was targeted, making it clear that the state has decided to marginalize Baloch professionals.

The statement continued, stating that the government’s actions violate democratic and legal principles and are part of a systematic plan to erase Baloch professionals from every sector. The repression has already targeted Baloch students in educational institutions, followed by Baloch teachers, and now doctors are being victimized. The statement emphasized that this repression is affecting all segments of the Baloch community.

The Baloch Doctors Forum warned that if the state continues its current approach of harassing Baloch professionals, subjecting them to enforced disappearances, and filing baseless cases against them, they would be forced to withdraw from their professional duties on a collective level. They urged the state not to test their patience, as the consequences could be severe.

The Forum made a strong demand for the immediate release of Dr. Mehrang Baloch and called for an end to the practice of enforced disappearances, illegal arrests, and discriminatory policies against Baloch professionals in Balochistan. They further warned that if such injustices continue, they would be compelled to take severe actions, and the government would be held accountable for all the consequences.
