Lahore – Former Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam is facing intense backlash on social media after a video surfaced showing him in a heated exchange with young fans on the street.
The video, which is going viral on platform X (formerly Twitter), shows Babar surrounded by a group of fans, visibly agitated and speaking to them in a harsh tone. While the exact conversation is unclear due to poor audio, the footage captures the cricketer pushing one fan before walking toward his car.
The incident comes shortly after Babar was excluded from the national squad for the ongoing T20 series against Bangladesh, following a poor performance during the New Zealand tour.
Social media users have criticized Babar for his behavior, calling it inappropriate and unprofessional, especially from a player of his stature.
Adding to the controversy, a public spat has erupted between former cricketer Kamran Akmal and Babar Azam’s father, Azam Siddique. The tension reportedly stems from Akmal’s recent comments, prompting Siddique to issue a veiled response. In turn, Kamran advised him to “stay within his limits.”
