Azam Khan acquitted in £190 million reference at Adiala Jail
Rawalpindi: The trial against Azam Khan in the £190 million reference has concluded at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. Imran Khan’s legal team, represented by Bushra Bibi and the founding chairman of PTI, has completed the cross-examination of former Principal Secretary Azam Khan. Meanwhile, PTI’s lawyer Zahid Abbas Chaudhry completed the cross-examination of former Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and former Federal Minister Zubeida Jalal. However, both were advised by Bushra Bibi’s lawyer, Usman Gul, for future hearings.
During the accountability court session presided over by Judge Muhammad Ali Warraich, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were present in court. NAB prosecutors, led by Prosecutor General Sardar Mazhar Abbas and his team, were also present, while PTI founder’s lawyers Zahid Abbas Chaudhry, Usman Gul, Barrister Ali Zafar, and others appeared for their clients.
Additionally, PTI’s request to provide an English newspaper for reference in the £190 million case was submitted. It is noted that the cross-examination has been completed based on statements from a total of 30 witnesses, with statements from a total of 33 witnesses recorded.
The court has adjourned the hearing of the £190 million reference until July 22.
