Islamabad:Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the head of the Awami Pakistan Party, has endorsed the Supreme Court’s decision regarding reserved seats as per the constitution. Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi stated that the Supreme Court’s decision has washed away their sins regarding reserved seats. He emphasized that the authority to impose restrictions on political parties does not lie with the government but rather questions the government’s own mandate.
Meanwhile, the Awami National Party has opposed the government’s announcement of restrictions on PTI. Party leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain asserted that despite political differences, they oppose restrictions on PTI and there is no justification for such restrictions.
Hafiz Na’eem ur Rehman of Jamaat-e-Islami criticized the government’s decision to impose restrictions on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf as an example of arbitrariness.
Hafiz Hamdullah of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam remarked whether the government is showing the judiciary eyes or acting as its advocate with this decision.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, head of Pakistan Muslim League (Q), commented that the government must prove in the Supreme Court that its action was correct, and it is the responsibility of political forces to consider the economy and the problems faced by ordinary people.
