Attack on Security Forces Convoy in Dera Ismail Khan Leaves 10 Dead

Dera Ismail Khan: A convoy of security forces was attacked by armed militants from the group known as Fitnat-ul-Khawarij, resulting in the deaths of 10 personnel and injuries to 3 others.
According to reports, the security forces were en route from Dera Ismail Khan to the Zama Check Post near the Darazinda police station for a peace festival when they were ambushed with heavy and advanced weaponry by the terrorists.
Following the attack, a significant deployment of security forces and police was dispatched to the scene. The bodies of the deceased and the injured were transported to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dera.
Among those who lost their lives were Naib Subedar Muhammad Jan, Naik Arif, Lance Naik Saeed-ur-Rehman, and several others. The injured included Naik Hamza Noor, Sepoy Hassan, and Sepoy Saber Ayub.
In response to the attack, President Arif Alvi expressed his condolences and paid tribute to the bravery of the fallen soldiers, condemning the terrorist act. He offered prayers for the elevation of their ranks and patience for their families.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu, honoring the courage of the Frontier Constabulary personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. He expressed his sorrow over the deaths of two police officers in Bannu, praying for the deceased and their families.
Additionally, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack on the FC checkpoint in Dera Ismail Khan and also denounced recent shootings in Bannu and Kohat, paying homage to the fallen security personnel. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to uprooting the scourge of terrorism.
