Attack on Justice Faiz’s Vehicle in London: IDs and Passports of Assailants to be Revoked
Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has expressed deep concern over the recent attack on former Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa and the Pakistani High Commission’s vehicle in London. He has ordered the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to take immediate action to identify the attackers and revoke their identity cards.
In a statement, Minister Naqvi instructed NADRA to use footage from the incident to pinpoint the assailants. Legal action will be initiated against them, with FIRs to be registered in Pakistan. The attackers’ identity cards will be blocked, and their passports will be canceled.
Naqvi emphasized that measures will be taken to revoke the citizenship of those involved, with the case to be presented to the cabinet for approval. He condemned the attack, stating that such actions cannot be tolerated, particularly as it also targeted the vehicle of the Pakistani High Commissioner in London.
Additionally, he questioned why security was not provided to former Chief Justice Isa, especially given the threats he had reportedly faced. The minister vowed that the government would not remain silent in the face of such incidents.
