At Least 34 Dead as Tornadoes Strike Southeastern U.S. States

A deadly storm system has swept through the southeastern United States, leaving at least 34 people dead and causing widespread damage. Missouri has been the hardest hit, with 12 fatalities reported, while other states such as Kansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana have also suffered significant losses.
According to the Missouri Emergency Management Agency, early reports indicate that 19 tornadoes have struck 25 counties in the state. One of the victims in Missouri had their home completely destroyed, with the wreckage of their house being buried under a pile of debris. In Kansas, eight people lost their lives when more than 55 vehicles were involved in accidents due to a powerful dust storm.
Power outages have affected hundreds of thousands of people across the region. The website PowerOutage reported that by Sunday, over 250,000 homes in Michigan, Missouri, and Illinois were without electricity.
Tornado warnings and advisories continue across various parts of the country, including eastern Louisiana, western Georgia, central Tennessee, and the Florida Panhandle. In Mississippi, six fatalities have been confirmed after tornadoes struck the state. Flood warnings have also been issued for parts of central Mississippi, eastern Louisiana, western Tennessee, as well as sections of Alabama and Arkansas.
The severe weather has prompted emergency officials to issue additional alerts, as rescue and relief efforts continue in the affected areas.
