Asad Baloch Criticizes State’s Approach and Calls for Inclusive Dialogue for Balochistan’s Issues

In a speech at the Balochistan Assembly, Asad Baloch expressed concerns about the prevailing situation in the province, stating that people are being brought in based on personal preferences rather than addressing the genuine concerns of the Baloch. He emphasized that the Baloch people are speaking up for their rights, but the state’s use of force and the mindset in Islamabad will not resolve the issues at hand.

Asad Baloch further clarified that Balochistan became a part of Pakistan in 1948, not 1947, and questioned the inclusion of the Apex Committee in the Constitution, as it was not part of the legal framework. He referenced the failure of NATO’s use of power in Afghanistan and highlighted that the solution to Balochistan’s issues must come through dialogue and cooperation. He argued that problems cannot be solved through force or military operations.

He strongly opposed the ongoing military operations and stressed that if the country is to move forward, it must take the Baloch people along. He warned that cutting off funds would only breed further resentment. He also pointed out that projects like CPEC, Saindak, and Dykodik are not beneficial to the Baloch people, as they continue to face isolation with roads blocked and their resources not being utilized for their welfare.
