Peshawar: Awami National Party (ANP) has strongly opposed the federal government’s decision to impose restrictions on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). ANP’s central spokesperson, Engineer Ahsanullah Khan, criticized the government’s move, describing it as arbitrary and non-democratic.
He argued that political parties cannot be curbed through bans and obstacles, stating that PTI’s path should not be hindered. Khan emphasized that the country’s problems are not solely the responsibility of political parties but also of defense institutions and establishments. He called for accountability of those responsible for political instability and economic challenges, stressing that true accountability should be directed at these forces.
Khan further pointed out the misuse of one political party against another, advocating for the cessation of such practices to pave the way for progress. He demanded a thorough scrutiny of all matters by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and urged transparency in exposing those who have violated the constitution and undermined public trust.
