ANP Balochistan President Asghar Khan Achakzai Condemns State Repression, Announces Support for BNP’s Protests

Quetta:In a recent press conference, Asghar Khan Achakzai, President of the Awami National Party (ANP) Balochistan, spoke out about the current difficult situation in the country, particularly in Balochistan. He condemned the state for using its powers to trample on human rights and expressed grave concerns over the ongoing violence and unrest in the region.

He highlighted that the situation in both Pashtun and Baloch territories has reached a peak of instability. He pointed out that while the world recognizes the peaceful struggle of figures like Mah Rang Baloch and Samaduddin, the state continues to oppress individuals, including women who have suffered throughout their lives and are now being subjected to further harassment.

Achakzai emphasized the recent bloodshed in the province, describing it as unprecedented. He criticized the widespread political manipulation in the country, stating that even Ali Wazir has been detained in nearly every prison in the country. He also accused the government of exploiting Balochistan’s resources to run Islamabad, while simultaneously urging the people to remain silent.

He further criticized the state for its brutal treatment of women, who are being detained and oppressed. Achakzai vowed that the ANP would not remain silent in the face of such injustice, declaring that the ruling powers in Punjab cannot defeat the historical Pashtun and Baloch nations. He pointed out that while two provinces are progressing, Balochistan remains engulfed in corruption and exploitation, and the province is now being auctioned off.

Achakzai pledged that as long as they live, the ANP will continue to raise their voice against oppression. He announced that the ANP would fully support the BNP’s protests, including the long march on March 28, and will be welcoming the marchers. The ANP will also celebrate Eid with simplicity and solidarity, visiting families affected by the ongoing violence.

He expressed concern over the disappearance of 9-year-old artist Musawar Kakar, stating that despite the passing of time, authorities have failed to recover him. He noted that Kakar’s only “crime” was that his father had worked hard to accumulate wealth, making the family a target of the state’s unjust actions.

Achakzai concluded by reiterating that the ANP stands with the oppressed people of Balochistan and will continue to fight against the state’s oppressive policies.
