Islamabad:Renowned actress Amina Malik has expressed that she would never want her daughters to enter the showbiz industry.
In a recent podcast, the actress, model, and TV host shared her thoughts on her personal life and the entertainment industry. Amina Malik, who has spent most of her life in the showbiz world, revealed that although she will continue working in the industry, she would never encourage her daughters to be a part of it.
When asked about her reasons for not wanting her daughters to join showbiz, Amina Malik explained that becoming a successful actor is not an overnight achievement; it requires immense struggle and comes with a lot of challenges. She emphasized the way actors are sometimes treated, noting, “I would never want anyone to talk to my daughter the way they talk to actors in the industry, or look at her in the same manner.”
The actress also mentioned that while she wouldn’t name anyone specifically, there are people who offer no real work but still make inappropriate suggestions, such as, “We are coming to Karachi, what are you doing today? Let’s go out for coffee,” to which she would refuse.
Discussing the behavior of lead actors on set, Amina Malik criticized how some are not respectful to others, saying she would never want her daughters to face such discourteous behavior, like being scolded for being late or being treated rudely for no reason.
Amina Malik, who has two daughters, also shared her personal experience of marriage at a young age. She admitted that at 18, she married with the expectation of a life filled with dance, parties, and excitement. However, after getting married, she realized the true responsibilities that come with marriage, such as managing a home and fulfilling family duties.
She revealed that after her wedding, she became aware of the restrictions that came with being married. For example, she no longer had the freedom to purchase items for the house as she used to. She said that once the wedding festivities ended and everyone settled into their routines, she began to understand the actual meaning of marriage and the responsibilities it entailed.
