Alternative Route Submerged in Floodwater
Karachi:Due to recent heavy rains, a section of the alternative route via Hub River has been submerged in water, posing severe risks to the lives of travelers using this route. Local sources report that immediate repairs have not been initiated despite the critical condition of the route, which could potentially lead to major accidents at any time.
Local residents and commuters expressed deep concern over the situation, urging district authorities and National Highway Authority (NHA) to take immediate notice. A local citizen stated, “It has become very difficult for us to pass through this alternative route. After a portion of the route has been washed away, it has become dangerous to traverse here.”
“If urgent repairs are not undertaken,” another citizen warned, “this route could completely block off, and there is a fear of water submergence.” The alternative route via Hub River sees thousands of commuters daily, highlighting the urgent need for immediate maintenance work to ensure safe passage.
Residents have appealed to local administration and NHA to take prompt action before the situation worsens and poses more significant risks to travelers and commuters alike.
