Islamabad:In a heated exchange of accusations, the former Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has accused his predecessor, Pervez Khattak, of pledging to testify against Prime Minister Imran Khan. Gandapur claimed that Khattak’s actions could have serious consequences, hinting at potential repercussions.
Pervez Khattak, however, did not remain silent in response. He rebutted Gandapur’s claims, clarifying that he has been summoned by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and will duly comply. Khattak emphasized that any information he possesses related to Imran Khan’s case will be shared transparently with NAB officials.
The political skirmish has not gone unnoticed, with observers noting that both Ali Amin Gandapur and Pervez Khattak are engaging in a war of words primarily through statements. Political analysts suggest that this dispute underscores their strategies for political survival rather than personal animosity. Gandapur’s assertion that Khattak’s testimony could jeopardize his standing in the province further intensifies the narrative.
Senior journalist Mahmoud Jan Babar, renowned for his insights into political affairs, remarked that Pervez Khattak finds himself politically isolated at present, fighting to maintain his political relevance. He highlighted that Khattak’s future in his own party remains uncertain, potentially leaving him vulnerable in influential circles.
The ongoing verbal sparring between Gandapur and Khattak continues to capture attention, with Gandapur’s recent remarks hinting at a potential comeback against Khattak’s allegations. As the situation unfolds, both figures remain central to ongoing political dynamics in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
