All Parties Conference Condemns WAPDA’s Policies, Calls for Protests
Turbat:An All Parties Conference (APC) was convened in Turbat under the leadership of Deputy Convener Comrade Zarif Zadak to address the ongoing electricity crisis and voltage shortages plaguing Kech district. The conference, held at the office of BNP-Awami, included leaders such as Yunus Javed from the National Party, Khan Muhammad Jan from BNP-Mengal, Abdul Hafiz Mengal from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Yalan Zamrani from Central Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith Kech, Secretary General of Traders Association Nasir Ahmed Joski, spokesperson of Traders Association Aqeel Ahmed, General Secretary of Turbat Press Club Majid Samad, Zahid Dashti, and other political activists.
Participants expressed strong criticism of WAPDA’s unfair policies, accusing the organization of neglecting the severe electricity issues in the region despite repeated assurances. They highlighted prolonged power outages and abrupt shutdowns, causing immense hardship to the residents. The APC condemned what they termed as WAPDA’s failure to address the needs of the people of Kech and its surrounding areas.
It was announced during the conference that a symbolic protest camp will be set up at Shaheed Fida Chowk from July 9 to July 11, followed by a mass protest on July 11 against WAPDA’s inefficiencies. The National Party pledged its support for the protest scheduled for July 10 against WAPDA, emphasizing solidarity across Makran.
The APC appealed to the people of Kech to unite against WAPDA’s injustices and join political parties and the APC in their public demonstrations. Representatives from lawyers’ associations, teachers’ associations, social societies, and student organizations were also present at the conference, showing solidarity with the planned protests.
