All Pakistan Clerks Association Balochistan Rejects Pension Policy Reforms, Warns of Intense Protest

Quetta:The All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) Balochistan chapter, led by Provincial President Haji Ali Asghar Bangalzai and General Secretary Malik Amir Zada Alizai, has strongly condemned the Balochistan government’s pension policy reforms and the discriminatory treatment of government employees. In a joint statement, the APCA officials called for an end to the government’s hypocritical approach towards the salaries, pensions, and benefits of public sector employees.

The association accused the provincial government of implementing policies that only benefit ministers and elites, while severely undermining the rights of employees. They pointed out that while ministers’ salaries have been significantly increased—from one lakh to nine lakh rupees—the government imposes cuts on employees’ salaries and makes changes to pension schemes under the influence of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The APCA also criticized the lavish benefits provided to government officials, including luxury cars and expensive rent allowances, while the plight of regular employees is ignored.

The association also condemned the policies implemented by both the federal and provincial governments, claiming that these policies would have a detrimental effect on employment and law and order in Balochistan. They accused the government of neglecting development projects in the region, depriving the people of access to basic services such as health and education, as well as government and private sector job opportunities.

The APCA expressed deep frustration over the government’s approach to job recruitment in Balochistan, highlighting that millions of rupees were spent on advertisements for government vacancies, only for these positions to be canceled after thousands of educated youths applied. The association claimed that the government is operating under remote control, conducting experiments that even enemy states would avoid against their rivals.

In their statement, the APCA officials urged policymakers to reconsider their policies, warning that the country cannot be run by such flawed and mockery-like governance. They declared that if the government continues to deprive employees of their rights, they will resort to a complete system shutdown. They warned that if attempts are made to snatch away the livelihood of employees’ families, the elites living in their glass palaces will also face consequences.

The APCA also recalled the 2021 protest by federal employees, which led to a 25% disparity allowance being granted, while the Balochistan government only provided 15% in response to their own protests. They criticized the provincial government’s selective implementation of policies that benefit officials while neglecting employees.

The APCA made it clear that if the pension policy reforms are not withdrawn, Balochistan’s employees are prepared for strong and sustained protests to demand their rights.
