Ali Hassan Zehri: President Zardari’s Visit to China Will Yield Long-lasting Benefits, Pak-China Friendship Stronger Than Ever

Hub:Provincial Minister for Agriculture and Cooperative, Mir Ali Hassan Zehri, expressed confidence that President Asif Ali Zardari’s recent visit to China would yield significant long-term results. He emphasized that the Pak-China friendship is as high as the Himalayas and is only growing stronger with time.

Speaking upon the President’s return from China, Zehri described the visit as highly successful, noting that the Pakistani delegation had effectively represented the hopes and aspirations of the nation. He said the visit not only covered matters of mutual interest but also led to swift progress on ongoing joint projects and the finalization of new ones. During the visit, President Zardari met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang and also attended the opening ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin.

Additionally, several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed between Pakistan and China to further cooperation in various sectors. Zehri reiterated that Pakistan and China share a deep and enduring bond, with China being Pakistan’s closest neighbor and friend. He recalled the warmth and affection shown by the Chinese people towards Pakistanis during his stay, highlighting that the Chinese view Pakistanis as their brothers.

Zehri stressed that no one can undermine the unbreakable friendship between Pakistan and China, and despite the discomfort it causes to regional rivals like India, this partnership continues to thrive. He praised China’s role in the development of Pakistan, particularly through projects like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the development of the Gwadar Port, with the Pakistani people deeply appreciative of China’s unwavering support.

Furthermore, Zehri remarked that during the meetings with Chinese leadership, President Zardari clearly communicated that no country is closer to Pakistan than China. He affirmed that the relationship between Pakistan and China has always been strong and will only continue to improve over time.

Zehrui also discussed the crucial role China plays in regional peace and stability, particularly in Afghanistan. He emphasized the need for Pakistan, China, and other stakeholders to collaborate for social and economic development in the region. Zehri praised China’s support for Pakistan’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and national development, as well as its consistent stance on the Kashmir dispute.

He concluded by expressing hope that the deepening Pak-China friendship and cooperation would contribute significantly to maintaining balance and ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region.
