Acting Chairman Senate Syed Al Khan Holds Meetings on Key National and International Issues

Islamabad: Acting Chairman of the Senate, Syed Al Khan, met with various delegations in Islamabad, including senior journalists from Balochistan and faculty members from the University of Gloucestershire, UK. The discussions centered around significant topics such as the role of youth in national development, freedom of the press, and enhancing international educational cooperation.
During his meeting with the senior journalists from Balochistan, Syed Al Khan emphasized the importance of promoting free and responsible journalism. He stated that independent, responsible, and positive journalism is the cornerstone of any democratic society. “The media is the fourth pillar of the state; it not only keeps the public informed but also plays a key role in stabilizing democratic values,” he remarked.
The journalists raised several national issues during the meeting, to which Syed Al Khan provided detailed responses. He reiterated the government’s commitment to media freedom and assured that the government would continue to support the promotion of journalism. He also discussed the challenges faced by the media and emphasized that journalism should be responsible and truthful in order to provide the public with accurate information.
Regarding Balochistan, the Acting Chairman Senate highlighted the province’s potential for a prosperous future, describing it as the gateway for trade and investment with Central Asia. He emphasized Balochistan’s rich natural resources and the government’s efforts to improve the economic situation, especially for the people of the province. Syed Al Khan mentioned that the development of Balochistan’s underdeveloped areas was imminent, and the region’s resources would be effectively utilized for its economic growth.
Furthermore, Syed Al Khan met with Professor Adeela Shafi and Regional Manager Wajid Ali from the University of Gloucestershire to discuss educational cooperation and parliamentary matters. The meeting focused on the welfare, education, and social development of the Muslim community in the UK. Professor Adeela Shafi provided an overview of various educational and welfare projects aimed at supporting Muslim students and their social development in the UK. She stressed the importance of furthering educational cooperation between the educational institutions of Pakistan and the UK.
Regional Manager Wajid Ali briefed the Senate Chairman on initiatives being undertaken for the development of the Muslim community and the promotion of educational opportunities for Pakistani students in the UK.
Syed Al Khan welcomed the delegation and praised their efforts. He emphasized that cooperation in the fields of education and social welfare would benefit not only Pakistani students but the entire Muslim community. He also underscored the need to strengthen educational and cultural ties between Pakistan and the UK and assured his full support for further cooperation.
