Prisoner Rights Should Be Equal for All, Says Aimal Wali Khan
QUETTA (Qudrat Daily): Awami National Party (ANP) Central President Senator Aimal Wali Khan has said that he would not politicize anyone’s illness, but the rights available to prisoners should be equal for everyone.
Speaking to reporters, Aimal Wali Khan questioned where the Constitution states that a prisoner can receive treatment at a private hospital. He said the same rights should apply equally to all prisoners, regardless of their status or the nature of their alleged offences.
He said he would not engage in politics over illness and stressed that prisoner rights should be applied uniformly to everyone, including those accused or convicted of crimes.
On the issue of creating new provinces, Aimal Wali Khan said he was unaware of the Pakistan Peoples Party’s position on the matter. He said the issue of provinces should be discussed and that any decision to create new provinces should be made after taking all stakeholders into confidence and keeping the national interest in view.
