Trump Says Secret Service Directed Him to Switch Aircraft During UK Trip

WASHINGTON:US President Donald Trump has said he switched aircraft while traveling from Türkiye to the United Kingdom after the US Secret Service instructed him to board a different plane for security reasons.
Speaking to CBS News correspondent Nancy Cordes, Trump said the Secret Service directed him to take a different flight and transfer to another aircraft. He said he followed the security officials’ instructions and was assured that the alternative aircraft was equally safe.
Trump said he follows the Secret Service’s guidance on security-related matters and does whatever he is instructed to do, adding that he trusted the security authorities in the matter.
Trump had switched aircraft last month while traveling to the UK following a NATO summit in Türkiye. He initially appeared to board an older Air Force One aircraft but was later transferred to another US military aircraft.
At the time, some journalists traveling with the president and members of White House staff were reportedly unaware of the reason for the aircraft change.
Trump also referred to security concerns while speaking to reporters, saying he receives numerous threats.
According to recent reports, the decision to change aircraft was made amid an alleged security threat linked to Iran. Trump, however, said he relies on the Secret Service and military officials to make such security-related decisions and follows their instructions.:::
