Maulana Fazlur Rehman Seeking Seat Adjustment with PTI, Claims Journalist Syed Zeeshan Aziz
ISLAMABAD: A new claim has emerged regarding possible political cooperation and seat adjustment between Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Journalist Syed Zeeshan Aziz claimed in a post on X that Maulana Fazlur Rehman was seeking seat adjustments with PTI for the upcoming elections and had also demanded a formal written agreement to this effect.
According to the journalist, if PTI accepts the proposal and a written agreement is reached between the two parties, it could have a significant impact on upcoming political protests and PTI’s announced long march towards Islamabad on September 27.
Fazlur Rehman and PTI Could Share Long March Container
Syed Zeeshan Aziz said that if a political understanding is reached between PTI and JUI-F, the political landscape during the potential long march could look considerably different.
He claimed that Maulana Fazlur Rehman and PTI leadership could potentially be seen together on the same container during the long march.
A written seat-adjustment agreement, he said, could give a clear structure to political cooperation between the two parties.
The claims have not been independently confirmed by either Maulana Fazlur Rehman or PTI.

PTI Says Doors Open for Political Parties
Meanwhile, KP Information Minister Shafi Jan said PTI wanted to move forward in cooperation with its allied parties and was also in contact with religious groups.
He said PTI had pursued every constitutional and legal avenue to secure the fundamental rights of party founder Imran Khan and that the party’s doors remained open to political parties seeking to oppose the federal government.
Shafi Jan also called on the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to leave its constitutional positions and join the opposition if it wanted to get rid of the government.
Long March to Islamabad on September 27
Shafi Jan said the decision to hold a long march towards Islamabad on September 27 had been taken after consultation between PTI and its allies.

He said the march would not necessarily be limited to one day and could continue for several days, adding that PTI would head towards Islamabad with complete preparations.
He said the party was also reaching out to Punjab and other provinces and had begun planning seminars at various universities.
According to Shafi Jan, young people inspired by Allama Iqbal’s vision would lead the movement and their numbers could reach into the millions.
He maintained that PTI had no option left other than the long march and said political parties wishing to challenge the federal government could join the movement.
