Bilawal Bhutto Says Joint Action Committee Responds to Truth Commission Proposal

Islamabad:Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman **Bilawal Bhutto Zardari** has said that the Kashmir Joint Action Committee has responded to his letter regarding the proposal to establish a Truth Commission.

In a statement, Bilawal said he had received the committee’s reply, which included its own proposal in response to his suggestion for the formation of the commission.

He emphasized that the loss of every precious life is a national tragedy and said his immediate priority is to help end the current crisis, provide urgent relief to the affected people, and restore normal life in Azad Jammu and Kashmir as quickly as possible.

Bilawal welcomed the committee’s willingness to consider the proposed Truth Commission as a possible institutional mechanism for moving the process forward. He added that the proposed commission has also received endorsement from the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.

The PPP chairman further said he would carefully review the committee’s proposal and consult with the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. According to Bilawal, the AJK prime minister will also seek initial feedback from the federal government and other relevant stakeholders to determine whether there is sufficient common ground to move forward with a mutually agreed proposal.
