Four Pakistani Nationals, Including Two Brothers, Killed in Armed Attack in South Africa

PRETORIA: Four Pakistani nationals, including two brothers, were shot dead in an armed attack in South Africa, prompting grief and concern within the Pakistani community. Local police have launched an investigation into the incident.

According to media reports, the victims included brothers Sajid Ahmed and Zafar Ahmed, who were residents of Ballar village in Mandi Bahauddin district, Punjab. Of the four victims, three were reportedly from Mandi Bahauddin, while the fourth belonged to Sialkot district.

Reports said the four men were returning home after closing their shop when unidentified armed assailants opened indiscriminate fire on their vehicle. All four victims died at the scene.

Police arrived shortly after the attack, collected evidence, and transferred the bodies for legal formalities. The incident has sparked widespread concern among the Pakistani diaspora living in South Africa.

South African police have registered a case and begun investigating the attack from multiple angles. No arrests have been made so far, and authorities said efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those responsible.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, with investigators examining all possible leads as the inquiry continues.
