Netflix’s First Pakistani Original Series ‘Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo’ Expected to Release by the End of 2026

Lahore: A major update has emerged regarding the release of Pakistan’s first Netflix Original series, Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo, based on the acclaimed novel by Farhat Ishtiaq.
The novel was first published in serialized form in a women’s digest in 2009 before being released as a book in 2013. According to recent reports, the much-anticipated adaptation is now expected to premiere on Netflix by the end of 2026.
While several successful Pakistani television dramas have previously become available on Netflix after their television broadcasts, Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo will be the platform’s first Pakistani Original series. The project has been produced through a collaboration between Hum TV and Netflix.
The star-studded cast includes Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Bilal Ashraf, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Hania Aamir, Iqra Aziz, Sanam Saeed, Ahad Raza Mir, Nadia Khan, and several other renowned Pakistani actors. The series has been directed and produced by Momina Duraid.
Originally scheduled for release in 2025, the series was not premiered as planned. Following the delay, neither the cast nor the producers shared any official updates for an extended period, leading to speculation that the project had been postponed indefinitely or even canceled.
However, fresh reports suggest that Momina Duraid is currently overseeing the final editing of the series. The cast is also expected to begin promotional activities in the coming weeks ahead of its anticipated release.
Despite the latest developments, many Pakistani viewers remain skeptical after years of delays. Social media users have expressed cautious optimism, with one fan commenting, “I won’t believe it until the episodes are released,” while another wrote, “I still don’t trust this news.”
If released as expected, Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo will mark a historic milestone for Pakistan’s entertainment industry as Netflix’s first Pakistani Original production.
