California: Former adult film actress Emily Wills may never breathe freely again, according to Dr. Gareth Nee, who has provided insight into her current health condition. Following a heart attack in February, Wills is reportedly suffering from “locked-in syndrome,” which has drastically altered her life from the glamorous lifestyle she once led at the peak of her career.
Dr. Nee spoke to the British newspaper Daily Star, expressing concern over Wills’ recovery. He explained that due to “brain damage” sustained during the heart attack, her future appears bleak. “After being in a prolonged state of inactivity or disability, it becomes extremely difficult for patients to return to their previous level of health,” he stated.
Research indicates that individuals in ICU or coma-like states can lose nearly 2% of their muscle mass each day, significantly affecting future mobility, particularly the muscles that aid in breathing. If these muscles deteriorate severely, it can make independent breathing nearly impossible for patients.
After being admitted to a medical facility in California, Wills has emerged from her coma but can only track objects with her eyes and is unable to speak. The stark contrast between her past life and current situation highlights the tragic turn her life has taken.
