Iran Warns It Will Destroy U.S. Installations in Region if Its Infrastructure Is Attacked

TEHRAN: Senior Iranian military officials have warned that any attack by the United States on Iran’s national infrastructure would trigger a forceful response targeting American military installations across the region and could significantly expand the scope of the conflict.

According to statements reported by Al Jazeera, Brigadier General Ebrahim Zolfaqari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said that if the United States were to strike any part of Iran’s national infrastructure, Iranian armed forces would immediately target key American facilities throughout the region.

He stated that not only U.S. military bases but also infrastructure deemed useful to Iran’s adversaries could become legitimate military targets. Zolfaqari warned that Iran’s response would be decisive and aimed at neutralizing such assets.

The Iranian military official also reiterated Tehran’s position regarding the Strait of Hormuz, describing it as one of Iran’s “red lines.” He asserted that Iran would not permit any form of American military or diplomatic intervention in the strategically important waterway “under any circumstances or at any cost.”

Separately, Iranian military spokesperson Mohammad Akramnia warned that if what he described as American aggression continued, Iran could expand the conflict into new geographical areas and open additional fronts that its adversaries had not anticipated.

Akramnia claimed that a significant portion of Iran’s military capabilities has not yet been revealed publicly and stated that any future Iranian retaliation would be proportionate to developments on the ground but could exceed the expectations of its opponents.

At the same time, the Iranian military sought to reassure neighboring countries by emphasizing that Tehran has no intention of engaging in conflict with regional or Islamic nations. Akramnia said Iran remains committed to maintaining brotherly relations and regional cooperation with its neighbors.

He added that the primary mission of Iran’s armed forces is to safeguard the country’s sovereignty, national security, and territorial integrity.

The statements come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and growing concerns over the possibility of a wider regional confrontation involving Iran and the United States.
