Fazlur Rehman Urges Banned Awami Action Committee to Avoid Escalation, Allow Time for Dialogue

Islamabad:Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief **Maulana Fazlur Rehman** has appealed to the **banned Awami Action Committee** to refrain from taking any further action for the time being and allow a few more days for efforts aimed at resolving the ongoing dispute through dialogue.

In a message addressed to the committee, Fazlur Rehman said the group has been staging a sit-in in **Rawalakot** and surrounding areas for the past month to press the government to accept its demands. He noted that several unfortunate incidents during the protest had led to increased tensions.

The JUI-F leader said the committee’s demands and sit-in had also been discussed in Parliament, adding that the committee had requested him to play the role of a mediator, for which he expressed gratitude.

Fazlur Rehman said he has remained in contact with **Maulana Saeed Yousaf Khan** of JUI in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and tribal elder **Kamran Azam Khan** regarding the situation.

He further revealed that he had recently spoken with **Bilawal Bhutto Zardari**, who is currently in **Muzaffarabad**, as part of ongoing efforts to find a peaceful solution. According to Fazlur Rehman, Bilawal informed him that discussions with the government were continuing and stressed the importance of preventing violence and resolving the issue through negotiations.

Calling for patience, Fazlur Rehman urged the banned Awami Action Committee to avoid announcing any further course of action and instead give negotiators additional time to achieve progress.

He expressed hope that positive developments would benefit both **Pakistan** and **Azad Jammu and Kashmir**, strengthen mutual trust between the people of Pakistan and Kashmir, and help resolve the issue peacefully.
