U.S. Confirms Major Military Operation Targeting Dozens of Iranian Sites

Washington:The United States military has confirmed carrying out another large-scale military operation against Iran, saying that dozens of Iranian military targets were successfully struck during overnight operations on **July 14**.

The operation came as the United States also reimposed its naval blockade on vessels traveling to and from Iranian ports, further escalating tensions in the Gulf region.

According to the U.S. military, the operation lasted approximately **seven hours**, concluding at **10:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time**. The strikes involved fighter aircraft, drones, and naval warships equipped with precision-guided weapons.

The military said the primary targets were Iranian military installations and coastal facilities near the **Strait of Hormuz**. The strikes reportedly focused on missile and drone sites, naval capabilities, coastal defense systems, and other military infrastructure.

U.S. officials stated that the objective of the operation was to further degrade Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian maritime traffic passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier the same day, the United States reinstated its naval blockade on vessels entering or departing Iranian ports and coastal areas, a move that has further heightened regional tensions.

In its statement, the U.S. military said all American forces remain on high alert, fully prepared for combat operations, and ready to execute any additional orders issued by the President.

Analysts say the continued U.S. strikes and the growing military presence around the Strait of Hormuz have intensified concerns over global maritime trade, energy supplies, and regional stability. The international community has continued to urge both Washington and Tehran to reduce tensions and pursue a diplomatic solution.
