Nadia Khan Says She Chose Motherhood While Feeling Lonely

KARACHI: Pakistani actress and television host Nadia Khan has shared an emotional account of her personal life, revealing that she decided to have her first daughter because she was struggling with loneliness and longed for unconditional love.
Speaking during a recent private television program on family planning and parenting, Nadia Khan became emotional while reflecting on her life experiences. She said that when her daughter Alizey was born, she felt completely alone and wished to have someone in her life who would love her as selflessly as she loved those around her.
Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of Pakistan’s modern morning show format, Nadia Khan has experienced several personal challenges, including divorce. She spent many years raising her children as a single mother. From her first marriage, she has two children, Alizey and Azaan, and she later adopted a son, Kiaan, whom she described as a very important part of her life.
The actress said she made every effort to save her marriage before eventually deciding to separate. Despite the difficulties, she successfully raised her children and continued her professional career.
Reflecting on changing social attitudes, Nadia Khan said that women of her generation were often taught that having children could strengthen a troubled marriage, leading many to become mothers in the hope of saving unhappy relationships.
She added that many women of her generation sacrificed their own happiness and personal aspirations to please others, but she now believes that such a mindset was not the right approach.
