Trump Announces More Strikes on Iran, Says US to Intensify Military Operations

Washington:U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a new wave of military strikes against Iran, saying the United States will carry out major attacks on Monday night and Tuesday as tensions between the two countries continue to escalate.
Speaking with radio host **Hugh Hewitt**, President Trump said Iran had failed to comply with a memorandum of understanding that was intended to test Tehran’s willingness to reach an agreement. He added that U.S. forces were preparing to target **Kuh Kolang Gaz La** in central Iran.
Trump also said he maintains strong coordination with Israeli Prime Minister **Benjamin Netanyahu**, describing their relationship as positive despite occasional disagreements.
Later, while speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump claimed that U.S. forces were rapidly degrading Iran’s military capabilities and targeting its assets linked to the **Strait of Hormuz**. He said additional strikes would be carried out overnight and expressed hope that a negotiated agreement with Iran could still be reached.
The U.S. president further stated that a naval blockade of Iran would be more effective than sustained bombing and claimed that Iran’s first- and second-tier military leadership had been eliminated.
Trump also said that countries benefiting from U.S. efforts to secure the Strait of Hormuz should contribute financially to those operations.
Earlier on Monday, Trump announced the reimposition of a blockade targeting Iranian shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. He said the United States would be known as the “Guardian of the Strait of Hormuz” and proposed a **20% transit fee** on cargo passing through the strategic waterway. According to Trump, the restrictions would apply only to Iranian vessels and their customers, while ships from other countries would continue to enjoy free passage.
