Blast in Mastung Near Civil Hospital Chowk Claims 8 Lives, Injures 22

Mastung: A devastating blast near the Civil Hospital Chowk in Mastung has resulted in the deaths of 8 individuals, including police personnel and students. The explosion, which occurred close to a police mobile unit, has left 22 others injured, with 13 critically wounded individuals referred to hospitals in Quetta.
According to local police, the blast was caused by a remote-controlled device planted on a motorcycle, causing significant damage to both the police mobile and a nearby rickshaw. The injured include a large number of school children, and due to a shortage of medical staff and resources at the civil hospital, many of the wounded are currently lacking proper medical care.
The area has been cordoned off as police initiate investigations into the incident. District Police Officer (DPO) Rahmatullah stated that investigations are ongoing. It is noteworthy that the blast occurred on the last day of a polio vaccination campaign, raising suspicions that the attack may have targeted personnel involved in the campaign.
