Islamabad: In a move to ensure a consistent supply of natural gas to domestic consumers during the harsh winter months, the government has decided to close CNG stations across the country for two months.
According to sources, the closures will take place during December and January, which are known for their severe cold temperatures. During this period, industries relying on gas for electricity generation will also face gas supply interruptions.
This decision aims to prioritize natural gas availability for household users during the winter season. Additionally, gas supply to captive power stations in all four provinces will be suspended from December 2024 to January 2025, forcing industries to rely on electricity from power companies instead.
The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited has issued directives to enforce the closure of CNG stations from December 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025.
