Russia Claims Capture of Another Ukrainian Town in Donetsk Region

MOSCOW:Russia has claimed that its forces have captured another town in eastern Ukraine, marking what Moscow described as further progress in its military campaign in the Donetsk Oblast.

According to international media reports, Russia said it had taken control of the town of Kostiantynivka.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said the reported advance represents a key step toward securing control over the entire Donetsk region.

Putin also called for intensified military operations against Ukraine and stressed the need to determine the actual number of foreign nationals serving with Ukrainian forces, saying the information would be important for future strategic decisions.

The Russian claims have not been independently verified, and Ukrainian authorities had not immediately commented on the reported capture. The battlefield situation remains fluid, with both sides frequently issuing competing claims about territorial control.
