Solar Panel Prices Drop by Up to Rs9,000, Battery Rates Also Expected to Fall

Lahore: A noticeable decline in solar panel prices has been recorded across Lahore and other major cities of Pakistan following a reduction in petroleum product prices, bringing relief to consumers planning to install solar energy systems.

According to media reports, after the recent decrease in petrol and diesel prices, the cost of alternative energy equipment, including solar systems, has also started to decline. Market sources said that prices of solar panels of different wattages and capacities have fallen by Rs4,000 to Rs9,000.

Experts believe that if fuel prices continue their downward trend, further reductions in solar panel prices may be seen in the coming days.

Meanwhile, positive developments have also emerged regarding solar batteries. Sources said that batteries, which had become significantly expensive due to higher fuel and transportation costs, are now expected to become cheaper.

Earlier, during the period of high inflation, battery prices had increased by as much as Rs27,000 to Rs38,000. However, with the recent drop in petroleum prices, production and transportation costs are expected to decrease, which may lead to a further reduction in battery prices in the near future.
