Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Orders Reduction in Transport Fares Following Fuel Price Cut

Lahore (Qudrat News): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has welcomed the federal government’s decision to significantly reduce petroleum prices and directed the relevant authorities to take immediate steps to lower public transport and goods transportation fares across the province.
Expressing gratitude to the public for their support during challenging times, the chief minister said that the benefits of the reduction in fuel prices must be passed on directly to the people. She also praised Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and his team for fulfilling their commitment to reduce petroleum prices following improvements in the regional situation.
Maryam Nawaz stated that protecting the nation from an energy crisis amid difficult regional circumstances was a remarkable achievement of the federal government. She further said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir played a vital role in steering the country through a challenging period and preventing a wider energy and economic crisis.
The chief minister emphasized that the decrease in petroleum prices should result in lower transportation costs and eventually lead to a reduction in the prices of essential commodities. She instructed the concerned departments to ensure that the relief reaches the public without delay.
According to the latest announcement by the federal government, petrol prices have been reduced by Rs74 per litre, while diesel prices have been cut by Rs67 per litre. As a result, the price of petrol has fallen from Rs373 to Rs299 per litre, while diesel has been reduced from Rs378 to Rs311 per litre.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the decision was taken to provide substantial relief to the public, reduce the burden of inflation, and ensure that the benefits of lower international oil prices are transferred directly to consumers.
Economic experts believe that the significant reduction in fuel prices is likely to ease transportation costs, positively impact the prices of essential goods, and contribute to a broader decline in inflation.
