Police Violence Against Government Employees Is a Serious Violation of Democratic and Constitutional Rights: National Party

Quetta (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Daily) — The National Party has strongly condemned police violence and arrests of Grand Alliance leaders and other government employees, terming the incident a serious violation of democratic and constitutional rights.

In a press release issued by the party’s central spokesperson, it was stated that raising voice for legitimate and democratic rights in Balochistan has virtually become “taboo.” The party said that across Pakistan, government employees protest for their salaries, allowances, and other rights, and governments usually resolve such issues through negotiations and dialogue.

However, the spokesperson alleged that the Balochistan government has been continuously violating agreements made with employees over the past year and has opted for force, arrests, and violence instead of addressing their demands.

The statement further said that Balochistan has become the only province where employees, doctors, traders, and transporters are all forced to stage protests and strikes due to worsening conditions. Despite this alarming situation, the government is allegedly relying on coercive measures instead of meaningful engagement.

The party added that political workers have long faced unconstitutional treatment, and now government employees are also becoming victims of state action, which reflects an increasingly aggressive governance approach.

The National Party demanded the immediate release of all arrested employees and Grand Alliance leaders and called for urgent initiation of serious and meaningful negotiations to resolve the ongoing crisis and ensure sustainable solutions to their demands.
