Punjab Government Presents Record Third Surplus Budget, Says Uzma Bukhari

ISLAMABAD:** Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has said that the provincial government has achieved a record by presenting its third consecutive surplus budget.

In her statement, Uzma Bukhari said that priority has been given to key sectors including education, health, and social welfare in the provincial budget. She added that Punjab’s development budget is not merely a paper exercise but is visibly being implemented on the ground.

She stated that the government will continue ongoing development projects using its own resources without any interruption, ensuring consistent progress across the province.

Highlighting flagship initiatives, she said that programs such as “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar,” “Suthra Punjab,” and “Aasan Business” are being implemented continuously as part of the government’s development agenda.

According to the minister, an electric bus network will be expanded across all 147 tehsils of Punjab, further strengthening public transport infrastructure in the province.

She added that development efforts have reached from Attock to Vehari and Rahim Yar Khan, ensuring balanced regional growth across Punjab.

Uzma Bukhari also claimed that equal development opportunities are being provided to all districts, stating that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has addressed long-standing issues of deprivation within two years of governance.

She further said that “politics of service” has prevailed over “politics of protest,” adding that the popularity of the provincial leadership has increased due to its governance model and public welfare-focused policies.
