Blood Donation is a Noble Act of Humanity and Great Sacrifice: Governor Balochistan
Quetta (Kudrat Daily) — Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, in his message on World Blood Donor Day, said that sacrificing one’s own needs for others is the true essence of sacrifice and a great example of humanity.
He stated that blood donation is a highly commendable act and a noble form of public service. By donating a small amount of blood, people contribute to a higher humanitarian purpose, proving that despite personal needs, they recognize and care for the needs of others.
The governor said that on June 14, World Blood Donor Day reminds the world of a shared mission that goes beyond borders, cultures, and beliefs.
He further noted that in developing countries, access to safe blood is not just a medical service but a lifeline between life and death. In underdeveloped regions like Balochistan, the need for blood is particularly critical.
He highlighted that delays in blood transfusions during childbirth lead to increased maternal mortality, while children suffering from leukemia, accident victims, and patients with chronic illnesses all depend on a continuous supply of safe blood.
He emphasized the need for a strong public awareness campaign to promote blood donation, especially in Balochistan, where maternal mortality rates remain alarmingly high despite a relatively small population.
