Disturbing Murder in Quetta: 15-Year-Old Confesses to Killing 6-Year-Old Inspired by Social Media

Quetta: Authorities have uncovered the shocking details surrounding the murder of a 6-year-old boy, Arman Ali, whose brutal killing in Hazara Town on September 20, 2024, has sent shockwaves through the community. After extensive investigations, police have arrested 15-year-old Mushtaq Hussain, who has confessed to the crime.
During a press conference, SSP of the Serious Crime Investigation Wing, Zohaib Mohsin, along with SSP Operations Muhammad Baloch, provided grim details about the case. Arman was found with his throat slit, and an examination revealed signs of severe physical abuse and indications of sexual assault.
Following a formal complaint from the victim’s father, Muhammad Naeem, the police registered a case and transferred it to the Serious Crime Investigation Wing for further investigation. Given the gravity of the crime and the fear it instilled in the community, a special investigative team was formed, comprising experts from various units including operations, analysis, IT, and crime scene officers.
The team conducted geo-fencing of the crime scene and retrieved CCTV footage with assistance from FC Balochistan, analyzing over 100 mobile numbers to identify potential suspects.
On September 29, Mushtaq Hussain was interrogated, during which he admitted to the murder. He revealed that he had been influenced by crime series and violent video games he had watched on social media, which inspired him to plan the attack. On the day of the murder, he lured Arman, whom he did not know, under the pretense of offering him juice while the boy was playing nearby. After committing the crime, he attempted to destroy the evidence by setting the body on fire.
In a chilling confession, Mushtaq also disclosed that he had previously killed a stray dog in the same area. Authorities have recovered the murder weapon and the school bag used in the crime, and investigations are ongoing.
