Man Dies After Accidental Gunfire During Wedding Celebration in Karachi

KARACHI: A man died after being accidentally shot during celebratory aerial firing at a wedding ceremony in New Karachi, near Jamia Masjid Khizra.
According to police and rescue officials, the incident occurred when 35-year-old Feroz Khan, a guest at the wedding, was allegedly firing into the air while intoxicated. A bullet reportedly fired into the air struck him after falling back to the ground, causing severe head injuries.
The victim, a resident of Korangi, was immediately rushed to hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries before reaching medical care.
Police said initial investigations suggest that the man was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident and had begun aerial firing during the celebration.
Authorities stated that the bullet fired into the air returned and struck the victim, resulting in fatal injuries. Further investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the incident and whether any additional individuals were involved in unlawful firing.
Law enforcement has reiterated warnings against aerial firing at public and private gatherings, calling it a dangerous and illegal practice that often leads to fatal accidents.
