Female Police Officer’s Video Alleging Misconduct by Colleagues Goes Viral in Karachi

Karachi: A video of a female police officer alleging misconduct and irregularities by fellow officers has gone viral on social media, prompting senior police authorities to order an inquiry into the matter.

According to police officials, Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi has taken notice of the viral video posted by female police officer Rubina Shaheen, who is currently serving at Napier Police Station, and has directed the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South to submit a fact-based inquiry report.

The controversy is linked to the investigation of a case registered at Eidgah Police Station under FIR No. 91/26. In the viral video, the officer alleged mistreatment and appealed to senior authorities for protection and intervention.

She also claimed that a suspect currently on remand was being provided special protocol and facilities at the police station, raising concerns about the handling of the case.

Following the emergence of the allegations, the DIG South also ordered a detailed inquiry and directed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation City to examine all aspects of the case, including the investigation process, the role of concerned officers, and the claims circulating on social media.

According to sources, the case reportedly involves a non-Muslim couple who allegedly eloped and got married. Authorities stated that further action will be taken in accordance with the law after the inquiry report is completed and reviewed.
