Trump Claims Iran Has Assured It Will Not Build or Buy Nuclear Weapons

U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran has assured the United States that it will neither develop nuclear weapons nor purchase an atomic bomb.
Trump also stated that Washington and Tehran are very close to reaching an agreement. However, he warned that if a satisfactory deal is not achieved, military operations could be launched again.
The U.S. president said that America is obtaining what it wants from Iran and emphasized that he is not in a hurry to finalize the agreement, arguing that rushing the process could prevent a good deal from being reached. He further claimed that the United States holds all the leverage in the negotiations.
Trump noted that he had announced the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz on Friday but said that the waterway would now be opened once a formal agreement is signed.
The president also asserted that Iran is currently in a very weak position, claiming that its military, navy, and air force have been completely dismantled.
